The rear arm can be positioned for digging while the driver remains fixed facing the front bucket. That combination may look plausible from a distance and distracting in a close photograph. Decide which part of the story matters before arranging the scene.
Rear work is the subject
Keep the cab-direction limitation visible in your decision. A different model may be needed for a convincing close-up.
The whole machine is the subject
A side or three-quarter view can present the vehicle and terrain without claiming the driver is operating the rear controls.
In the weathered 420F2 IT inspection, the figure is fixed and not removable. The supplied trench does not change that fact. Do not plan to turn the operator based on a removable figure shown in another Caterpillar release.
Check the photograph you intend to take
Sketch the viewing direction and decide whether the viewer will look through the cab. If the composition depends on the driver facing the rear, resolve that before buying. If it does not, use the model as a vehicle exhibit rather than describing a fully accurate operating moment.
This is a composition choice, not a modification guide. No supported figure-removal or seat-rotation procedure is established for this release.
