A large model can be impressive yet hide its most interesting surfaces. Before choosing a shelf, decide whether you want to see the top deck, the side profile or the equipment under an opening body. These are different sightlines.
| Interest | Useful view to test |
|---|---|
| Deck texture and rails | A modest view from above |
| Vehicle silhouette | Near the side at model level |
| Under-bed equipment | A clear side view with the bed in its chosen position |
The 797F review identifies both deck detail and equipment beneath its bed. One position may not show both equally well. Make the choice from the place where you normally look at the collection, not only while standing over the shelf.
Mock up the sightline before moving the model
Use an empty box or paper silhouette at the intended location. Sit or stand at the normal viewing position and check which surfaces would be visible. Include the enclosure frame and neighboring models in the test. This is an optical layout check; it does not establish the shelf’s load capacity.
If the important area disappears, change the orientation or location. Raising the bed further is not a substitute for a clear view, and a taller pose may require a different enclosure.
