An open door changes the purpose of this Diablo display. Instead of revealing a second seat and road-car comforts, it exposes a single racing seat and a six-point harness. That makes 79138 a different collection subject from the road-going SE30, even before the large rear wing enters the picture.
Three views of the GTR
| View | What the inspection establishes |
|---|---|
| Door open | One seat, fabric harness and carbon-effect cabin surfaces. |
| Engine cover raised | Matte-gold cylinder-head detail and a GTR identification label under the cover. |
| Body closed | Perforated grilles and drilled exhaust outlets remain visible. |
The Superfly Yellow inspection concerns the newer composite model, not the older metal-bodied GTR. Its favorable assessment of the hinges and opening action belongs to this release. An older secondhand GTR listing should not inherit those findings merely because the vehicle name matches.
The GTR–Jota comparison separates the racing-cockpit choice from the appeal of pop-up headlights.
Pros & Cons Analysis
See the source attributions and review limitations below.
Pros
- The fabric harness and lone seat make the cockpit an informative focal point, rather than a dark compartment behind a dramatic door.
- The inspected opening mechanisms are praised for their execution; this supports displaying the new composite release with selected panels raised.
- Open grille mesh and hollow exhaust ends give the closed-body view details to inspect beyond the yellow finish.
Give the racing cockpit room to be seen
The GTR earns its place through the competition interior and accessible engine presentation. A door-open pose connects the exterior wing and cooling details to the stripped cabin. Buyers replacing an older metal GTR should verify the actual release; this inspection is not a quality verdict on the earlier tooling.
