The unnumbered M-180 is useful for a collection concerned with how the D50 changed under Ferrari. Its integrated side bodywork, low mirrors and brown seat make it more than a new badge on the earlier Lancia model.

Start at the cockpit, then lift the hood

  • The inspection identifies a leather-covered seat and a windshield that pivots.
  • Two metal clasps secure the removable engine hood.
  • The wheel fasteners use different thread directions on opposite sides; do not treat them as ordinary interchangeable nuts.

The M-180 inspection also records the starting equipment supplied with its sample. Verify the contents of the offered box: the merchant description confirms the car’s openings but does not enumerate that equipment.

The merchant calls this the short-nose model. A relative nose-shape comment in the inspection is not a different manufacturer code. Use M-180 and the unnumbered red configuration to identify the offer.

The earlier Lancia M-175 offers the contrasting body configuration, alongside more extensive reported sample-handling cautions.

Pros & Cons Analysis

See the source attributions and review limitations below.

Pros

  • The inspected low mirrors, integrated side bodywork and brown seat make the Ferrari configuration identifiable alongside an earlier Lancia D50.
  • The source demonstrates a pivoting windshield and removable hood, giving the model more display options than its closed profile alone.

A development-history exhibit, with contents checked first

M-180 makes sense when the Ferrari configuration itself matters to the collection. Before ordering, reconcile the manufacturer code and included accessories with the seller. The original inspection does not establish a current-stock defect rate or long-term durability.
