The D6 XE LGP and standard D8 support different dozer compositions. Choose the D6 for a blade-angle emphasis; investigate the D8 when a rear ripper is the reason for adding the model.
Look at the whole configuration
The D6’s wide-track appearance and VPAT blade belong to this particular machine configuration. The D8’s rear ripper makes the back of the model important too. A front-only shelf position may conceal that advantage, while a diagonal position can reveal both ends.
Judge delicate details realistically
Both models include fine details that should not be treated as carrying handles. The D8 merchant wording about metal rails conflicts with the firsthand description of soft plastic cab rails. Keep that discrepancy visible instead of declaring a material-quality winner from the diecast label.
