The R2900 XE looks like a natural partner for an underground truck, but matching a mining theme and a scale does not prove a loading pose. The inspected 85719 could reach over an AD45’s side without having enough lift to complete the intended discharge.

Crossing the side is only half the test

A convincing loader-and-truck arrangement needs both
Requirement What to look for
Reach Bucket passes the receiving side without contact
Discharge clearance Bucket can tip through the desired position above the body

The R2900 XE inspection is unusually useful here because it considers the pairing, rather than rating the loader in isolation. Its strong bucket tip did not cancel the lift-height limitation with that truck.

Consider a tunnel composition without the loading moment

An angled approach or a waiting position can show the low underground profile without making the unsupported transfer pose the center of the scene. These are alternative compositions, not a claim that the model performs a loading cycle.

Low roofline

Folded rails can be part of the silhouette; verify the actual model height in that state.

Open viewing area

Raised rails and the sideways-seated operator make different details visible.

The inspection finds the folding rails difficult to align neatly and notes hollow inner wheel faces. A low rear-quarter view may expose details hidden by a more conventional side view. Choose the view deliberately, then plan the tunnel clearance and retrieval route before fixing scenery.

Pros & Cons Analysis

See the source attributions and review limitations below.

Pros

  • The inspected articulation allows an angled underground presentation, while optional cab occupancy separates parked and occupied arrangements.

Cons

  • The reported AD45 pairing limitation is specific: reach above the side did not provide enough lift for full discharge. Do not turn it into either universal compatibility or universal incompatibility.
  • Soft folding rails and hollow wheel interiors warrant close images of the intended viewing side.

Keep the R2900 XE’s underground role separate from the AD45 pairing

Approach or waiting position

The low silhouette and articulation support an underground composition without depending on a transfer moment.

Discharging into an AD45

The inspected pairing lacked sufficient lift for full discharge. Reaching above the side did not solve that clearance problem.

Another truck requires its own demonstration. For a low viewing angle, include the folding-rail alignment and inner-wheel appearance in the decision.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the failed AD45 loading pose rule out the R2900 XE with another truck?

No. The inspection concerns that pairing: the bucket could reach over the side but lacked room to complete discharge. For another exact truck, establish both lift clearance and the tipped-bucket path; a strong tip angle alone cannot confirm the pair.
