AUTOart 81956 Senna GTR review: dramatic doors, disputed rear wing

AUTOart’s orange Senna GTR has dramatic doors, but merchant and inspection claims conflict on rear-wing movement. Keep that limitation in the decision.

Rear-wing movement is unresolved across the sources: the merchant says “functioning rear spoiler,” while the exact GTR inspection describes a static wing. Do not buy 81956 on the assumption that it works like the road-going Senna.

The better-supported movement is in the doors. Their upward and forward path, including the glazed sections, changes the outline enough to make an open pose worthwhile without relying on the rear wing.

Aero shape is the attraction; engine access is not

The orange GTR inspection describes extensive aerodynamic and brake detail but limited engine visibility. Only the doors open in that account. The track bodywork is therefore a display subject, not an invitation to expose every mechanical compartment.

A collector seeking an adjustable rear pose should resolve the merchant/inspection conflict before treating this as an alternative to the 720S.

The yellow 720S has the clearer rear-aero movement evidence when a changing pose is essential.

Pros & Cons Analysis

See the source attributions and review limitations below.

Pros

  • The inspected door mechanism creates a distinct upward-forward pose with a substantial visible change to the cabin opening.
  • The track-oriented surfaces remain the visual focus even with the body closed.

Cons

  • The catalog’s functioning-spoiler claim contradicts the inspected static GTR wing; capability remains unresolved for the current offer.
  • An engine-focused buyer gains little from the largely enclosed mechanical area.

Choose the GTR shape without assuming adjustable aero

The orange Senna is compelling as an aero-and-door display. If rear-wing movement is essential, pause until the exact supplied model is demonstrated: the present sources disagree.
